What do we actually need for a canyoning tour?
We need a fairly complete canyoning gear list before we can jump in to the deep.
To start with a neoprene suit. Today there are special neoprene suits on the market specially designed for canyoning. A neoprene suit protects you from the cold and from the hard rocks. It is important that the outside of your suit is made of tear-resistant material since a canyon is very abrasive, strolling through the bushes and we often fall if it was just too slippery. 😉 De knieën en ellebogen moeten voorzien zijn van een rubber coating die deze plekken van ons pak beschermt tegen beschadigingen.
My preferred neoprene for the summer is the Bitet model of Seland. This suit has seen more than 100 canyons and still looks good. The vest and long-john are made of 5mm neoprene with a titanium addition so the suit is extra warm. The arms and legs are made of 4mm neoprene to give more freedom of movement.
Het geniale aan dit pak is dat het achter op je rug en in je knieholtes 3mm superstretch neopreen hebt wat het pak super comfortabel maakt.
Large parts of the suit are fitted with the outer fabric Small Diamond that protects the neoprene against tears or abrasions.
In addition, all major seams are protected with a thick rubber coating so your seams don't suddenly hang loose mid-canyon.
Conclusion: a super neoprene suit that will last very long!
